What solventless means

Most concentrates are made by washing the plant with a solvent, usually a hydrocarbon such as butane or propane, or ethanol, then removing the solvent again. Rosin skips that entirely. Ice water and a sieve separate the trichomes, and a heated press squeezes the oil out of them. Heat, pressure, water. Nothing else goes in, so nothing has to come out.

It is slower, the yield is lower, and it needs better starting material, because a press cannot hide a poor harvest the way a solvent wash can. That is the whole reason for the price.

Live rosin and cold cure

Live rosin starts from plants frozen at harvest instead of dried, the same idea as live resin but without the solvent. Cold cure is what happens after pressing: the rosin is held cool for days until it sets into a batter rather than staying a loose sap. Both are on the label because both change the texture and the taste.

Low and slow

Rosin is worth dabbing at a lower temperature than shatter or budder. The terpenes you paid for are the first thing a hot nail destroys. Keep it cold in the fridge between uses and it holds its texture for months.
